Telenor’s wholly owned subsidiary, Telenor Sweden, is Sweden’s third largest mobile operator and the second largest provider of broadband services to the consumer market in Sweden.

Telenor offers broadband services through its subsidiary company Bredbandsbolaget. Telenor also owns Swedish residential voice and broadband provider Glocalnet. Through Canal Digital, Telenor also has a dominant position in the digital television market.

Bredbandsbolaget offers high speed broadband services, and is one of the pioneers of broadband technology in the Swedish market. Founded in 1998, the company was the first to offer IP telephony and digital TV through broadband. Bredbandsbolaget is Sweden’s second largest broadband provider. In the market for IP telephony, Bredbandsbolaget is the leading provider.

Bredbandsbolaget was acquired by Telenor in 2005.

Glocalnet was founded in 1997 and acquired by Telenor in 2006. The company provides fixed telephony and broadband services. The company is headquartered in Stockholm.

Canal Digital Sweden provides television and broadband services to Swedish households. The head office is located in Stockholm.

Canal Digital is the leading television distributor in the Nordic market. The company broadcasts on all platforms: satellite, cable, broadband and digital terrestrial television. It is a holding company, fully owned by Telenor since 2001.

Telenor Connexion provides reliable and cost-efficient wireless communication solutions for connecting machines, devices and vehicles on a global basis. There are a multitude of areas of application, and new ideas in this area are constantly emerging. Emergency warning systems in cars, tracking and control systems in the transport industry, electric meter reading and logistics, alarm and security services are some examples of areas where machine to machine communication (M2M) is already in operation.
